Born in rural Kansas, La Señora Queso, age 7 ¾, migrated to Chicago in 2010 with her trusty human sidekick. She has since embraced the urban lifestyle and serves as primary neighborhood busybody. She loves a sunny nap spot, is passionate about food, and prefers film noir and ragtime.
Nala was born and rescued on the streets of West Philly. She’s a sweetie who isn’t afraid to take care of business. Don’t let her fancy tuxedo coat fool you, she loves a good shoe string or bottle cap. However Nala’s current favorite toy is the trusty laser pointer.
Izzy is a short-haired black cat from Dallas, TX who loves playing with plants. She enjoys darting from room to room chasing a laser, the sound of a can opening, smelling human breath, and relaxing by any window. She’s not fond of making human friends, taking the CTA to the vet, or long car rides.
Dax + Blue
Dax and Blue are Paws alumni who equally enjoy cuddling and fighting one another. Dax’s heritage, while unknown, many believe to be tied to the prestigious Russian Blue breed. Dax exhibits many dog-like behaviors such as licking his humans, greeting and cuddling strangers, and watching tv at length. Blue, much more feral in temperament, has been compared to the smoke monster from Lost. Blue often darts from one room to another for no apparent reason, cannot commit to extended cuddles, and will viciously attack any limbs under a blanket. Dax + Blue collaborate to hunt bugs, conspire daily to outsmart their automatic feeder, and are very loved by their parents.
