What is an eligible community garden?
A community garden supports the wellness of its local community with an accessible and safe space in a Chicago neighborhood that plants, but is not limited to, assorted flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees, and shrubs. It is designed to provide a natural habitat for birds, bees, butterflies, and people. The community garden, as a place to meet, respects, embraces, and accommodates cultural and collaborative activities. These can include music performances, art projects and displays, health promoting activities, and a variety of workshops and demonstrations for the benefit of its members and neighbors.
