what we do
As seasonal plantings are changed, many companies find they do not have the space or resources to take care of excess plant material. Chicago Plant Rescue (CPR) works to transplant healthy perennial plants from temporary beds and planters to permanent homes in community gardens all over Chicago.
CPR forms partnerships with landscape companies, restaurants, and various businesses to know when plant material becomes available and coordinate the transportation and storage of material before it finds a forever-home in a community garden.
Community gardens often struggle to afford needed plant material and your donation will not only benefit the environment by reducing waste, but will go a long way in helping to green Chicago's neighborhoods. We are still in our first year of operation and have already rescued over 700 plants!
Chicago Plant Rescue has a Fiscal Agent Account with NeighborSpace, a 501(c)3 organization. It is through NeighborSpace's non-profit status and fiscal agency that CPR accepts tax-deductible donation.
